“You have to approach everyone looking for the good in that person”
Dr. Sara Hansen
Psychiatry
Dr. Sara Hansen spends her working days supporting people through some of the darkest moments of their lives and sees it as a privilege to be trusted to sit alongside them on their journey to recovery.
The first doctor in her family, Sara is now in her second year of training as a Psychiatry Registrar, taking on this emotionally demanding and complex work with empathy and patience. No matter the situation, she always searches for the good in every patient she meets, and sees a future where mental health care and treatment in New Zealand is accessible and stigma-free.
